Angie and Eamon, Finnstown House
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of shooting the wedding video for Angie and Eamon. A nice suprise was that both the bride and groom got up to sing in the choir during the church ceremony. Top class performance that received a well-deserved round of applause afterwards. The church was shaped like a viking longboat! Although it rained for a bit of the day, it certainly didn’t drown any atmosphere of the day. Afterwards, the reception was held at Finnstown House in Lucan, one of my favourite venues to work in.
The photographer for the day was Mark Donovan a wedding photographer based in Kildare and we certainly had the craic! Here’s a screengrab from our quick stop off at Maynooth college.

100 years!
A screenshot from the wedding I filmed yesterday: this is the groom Shane’s granny who is 100 years young! Fit as a fiddle and enjoying every minute of the day. She was even serenaded by Tropical Storm who provided the musical entertainment for the drinks reception and during the dinner. We hope she enjoys the finished Wedding DVDs!
Maria and Shane were a lovely relaxed couple to work with. Luckily we got a break in the rain once we arrived at Carton House, Maynooth.
Joining me on the day was the ever-talented official photographer Jenny McCarthy (www.photosbyjen.ie) and ably assisted by Barbara. I work with these gals a lot. We seem to frequently end up shooting in Castle Durrow for some reason!
Wishing Shane and Maria all the best for the future, enjoy the honeymoon guys!

Greystones Church, Marriott Druids Glen :: Claire & Gerard
Claire & Gerard tied the knot in the Holy Rosary church in Greystones and afterwards held their reception in the Marriott Hotel in Druids Glen, Co. Wicklow. I love having the opportunity to edit to a Beatle’s song! In this case, Claire and Gerard picked “Something” written by George Harrison and I thought it was the perfect choice for their wedding highlights clip below. Enjoy!

Lisa & Nick
Lisa & Nick tied the knot in Raheny and afterwards held their reception in The Summerhill House Hotel in Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow. I only live 15 minutes away from this venue! Both Lisa & Nick opted for a black & white version of their highlights – a lovely classical memory of their big day. Photographer on the day was Andrew Miller, a true gent to work with.
The clip is set to Tom Baxter – Better, the very same track was used for Sandra and Colm in my last uploaded wedding clip. Couples choose their own music and given that this is the perfect wedding song, I’m not suprised that it was randomly selected twice in a row! It fits perfectly.

Barberstown Castle : Wedding Ceremony & Reception

This was the moment just after Michelle and Mike were pronounced husband and wife after a beautiful wedding ceremony at Barberstown Castle, Straffan, Co. Kildare earlier today.
Michelle was a laugh a minute all day. Mike was clearly enjoying every second! Eddie Scheffer was the wedding photographer. I had met Eddie before in a previous life but in a social situation as opposed to a work situation. So today was our first wedding working together and naturally we got on like a house on fire. I really liked Eddie’s relaxed and professional approach to the day. He was a quick shooter too, no messing about! I look forward to the next time that we end up working together.
Barberstown Castle is one of the places that I love to film a wedding. Today I was double blessed because the civil ceremony took place there too – so everything was self-contained. I would imagine that it is difficult for wedding guests not to enjoy themselves at this venue. Lovely decor in a medival but modern style, friendly staff & management and great food are just some of the reasons that make this a great wedding venue. Always a pleasure to work in.
