Busy Summer for Wedding Videos, Social Media Wedding Directory

Posted by Keith on Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

Sorry for the lack of blog posts over the last few months. It is a crazy busy time with shooting and editing weddings. I’m working very hard to keep my editing backlog under control and thankfully, I’m still meeting my 12 week delivery date target. I hope to be uploading more sample wedding video clips over the coming weeks.

If you are a bride planning a wedding, you really should check out www.mrs2be.ie as it is packed with planning tips and advice and a busy yet friendly online Irish wedding community.

In other news, for anyone working in the Irish wedding industry, you may be interested to hear about my new online wedding marketing blog. Over time, it will contain useful information about getting the most from social media and search engine marketing. It is specifically targeted towards Irish wedding suppliers. Visit the site here: http://keithmalone.com

For wedding suppliers and businesses including hotels and wedding venues based in Ireland, you should add your Twitter and Facebook pages to mrs2be’s Social Media Directory for FREE of charge. They are accepting listings from Irish wedding suppliers whether or not they are existing advertisers with the site. A great initiative, even if I may say so myself! ;)

Wedding Photography by PhotosbyJen, Church Music Celtic Breeze, at Killashee House Hotel

Posted by Keith on Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

Ciara and DavidSorry it’s been so long since my last post. It has been a crazy few months but I’m back on my feet now and bang in the middle of the busy wedding season again!

Shot a lovely wedding on Friday, Ciara and David who tied the knot in Chapelizod and later had their reception in the glorious Killashee House Hotel – a fabulous wedding venue. If I was getting married again (read renewing my vows!), this is where it would be! Everything always runs smoothly and on time. Food and service are always perfect.

At the ceremony, we were graced by the music of Celtic Breeze, a fantastic trio of Irish wedding musicians. I hope to include a clip here shortly.

For me, it was another opportunity to work with the excellent Jenny McCarthy of PhotosbyJen. Jenny excels in getting fantastic shots on every shoot. There is a lot more to being a wedding photographer than merely taking pictures. Besides good technical knowledge and a creative eye, a really important skill is people management and the ability to put the bridal party and guests at ease. Along with the other key skills, Jenny definitely has the essential people skills and it is just one of the reasons why she has become a leading Irish wedding photographer – and one of the busiest. Anybody who is interested in booking her should check availability with her ASAP, because like myself, she books out fast! Her website is www.photosbyjen.ie

Musical entertainment on the night was provided by The Best Men. I keep bumping into these guys at weddings and each time, they play a great gig and each and every guest can be seen to enjoy themselves and dance the night away. Musically, they are in of the better Irish wedding bands in my personal opinion.

Congratulations to Ciara and David, you were both a pleasure to work with and I’m looking forward to editing your DVDs in the coming weeks. Have a great time on honeymoon!

Wedding at Dunboyne Castle : Congratulations Anna and Chris!

Anna and Chris, Dunboyne Castle

Anna and Chris were married earlier today in St. Brigid’s, Kilbride and celebrated in style at Dunboyne Castle. They were a fantastic, fun-loving couple to work with and I can’t wait to get stuck into editing their Wedding DVD. Like my last wedding, Nikki Kavanagh sang at the church and I can’t believe she isn’t signed yet! [Record companies take note!]. Just want to wish Nikki the best of luck with the Eurovision in May when she backs Niamh Kavanagh.

Susan Jefferies and John were the official wedding photographers, it had been a while since we last worked together so it was great to catch up.

Just a quick note about the Dunboyne Castle. What a venue for weddings! I always look forward to working here because Tom is always on hand to make sure everything runs smoothly for the bride, groom, guests and wedding suppliers.

Congratulations Anna and Chris, have a great honeymoon and I’ll chat to you in a few weeks time.

Wedding at the Springfield Hotel, Leixlip

Posted by Keith on Saturday, March 20th, 2010

On Saturday, I had the pleasure of filming the wedding of a delightful couple: Louise and John-Paul. They tied the knot in St. Mary’s, Maynooth and later celebrated at the Springfield Hotel in Leixlip. Congratulations guys and I hope you have a ball on honeymoon!

The excellent church singer Nikki Kavanagh, accompanied by the talented Ed on keyboards provided the music for the ceremony. I can’t say enough good things about these guys. We end up working on a lot of weddings together and each time they perform, you can hear a pin drop in the congregation. Even later on at the reception, I usually overhear guests still talking about how much they enjoyed listening to them. Well worth checking out Nikki’s website. (She also offers a professional wedding makeup service).

I also worked alongside the creative wedding photographer Alan Mooney. Alan is one of the many photographers whom I have the pleasure of working with from time to time. I enjoy every shoot. He excels at creating a very relaxed buzz to the whole photographic experience, but yet still covers the essentials and of course the candid creative shots. Each bride and groom are always very comfortable around Alan which I personally believe really helps with making great photographs. It also really helps with the videography too! :)
